Throughout the regatta we’ll be posting notices to the Notice Board section of the website. A link to this section is located on the right-hand side of the top-most navigation. The official notice board is located at the main regatta tent in the Maritime Museum field. This online notice board is for convenience only. We will make our best effort to post copies or photographs of each notice, but we cannot guarantee all notices will be posted online and those that are posted may appear several hours after being posted on the board in the tent. In the event of a conflict or difference between this notice board and the official notice board in the tent, the official notice board in the tent shall control.

The top songs so far are in! They will be among those played at the regatta tent each night after racing.

Sailors – want to see your favorite song make the list? Log on to the event website at http://optinationals2010.org/ and click the ‘playlist’ link in the top right corner. Submit your songs along with your sail number for a chance to win an embroidered hat with the regatta logo from the store. Last day to submit your songs will be Wednesday, July 14.

Residences and Cottages

As regatta organizer, Fishing Bay Yacht Club occasionally has leads on rental homes or space with members in Deltaville, convenient to the regatta site. FBYC is not an agent or broker and provides these leads as a convenience only. Beyond this, visitors should handle all arrangements and details of keys, etc. with the property owners, because it is not appropriate or feasible for FBYC to be further involved in these private transactions.

On-Line Regatta Store Now OPEN!

The Opti Nationals 2010 Regatta Store is now open, offering apparel and accessories with embroidered or printed event logos. All items are substantially discounted until June 15 to facilitate management of regatta inventory. Purchase now to assure color and size availability and to obtain convenient delivery in your regatta bag at check-in.

Products available include male, female and youth pique mesh and pigment dyed Polos, adult and youth Caps, all cotton Tee Shirts (Tee Shirts are not included in registration fee; rather, a very nice surprise memento of another type will be provided), canvas Totes and ladies Contemporary Bags, and recyclable Event Bags. Sales taxes included in prices.

Remaining items, plus smaller inventories of additional novelty event items will be available at the regatta site or for drop shipment. This on-line Regatta Store uses a secure industry payment interface to protect your information.

Optimist Nationals Website Launched

Fishing Bay Yacht Club has launched a state-of-the art event website http://optinationals2010.org for the Optimist Nationals to be held on July 16-24, 2010. The website was built using modern blogging software and has many features for participants, parents and fans to get information about the event and to follow along as it happens.

Features:

News – Will be updated periodically before the event. During the event will have several dispatches a day about the schedule, weather, racing, results and evening activities.

Shop – Although it is not yet avilable there will be a shopping cart to purchase FBYC and regatta apparel and accessories as well as other possible excursions for hire.

Twitter – Tweets will be posted throughout the event. Follow @optinationals for live updates, photos and videos

Facebook – Check out our facebook page and connect with other sailors attending the event

SMS Alerts – Sign up for SMS alerts. In the event of an emergency or severe weather, we’ll send out text messages to parents and anyone else at the regatta site.
