Rick Mallinson Will Be Chief Judge

Richard MallinsonRick Mallinson will serve as Chief Judge for the fleet racing at 2010 Opti Nationals. Rick sails a J22, Melges 24 and Viper 640, but his first boats for racing were Lightnings and he has some bigger boat and a little offshore experience.

He has been Chief Judge for several national regattas including the MC Scow, J22, Finn and 470 classes as well as a NOOD Regatta. He has been a judge at the last two Optimist Nationals and this year’s Team Trials and has also umpired the team racing Nationals. He is a Senior Judge and is on the US Sailing Judges Committee. He is a Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Oklahoma with a focus on Energy and Sustainability.
