Booking Accommodations
Due to the relatively limited lodging accommodations in the area, it is strongly encouraged to book early. The accommodations page of this website has a list of local accommodations, many of which are offering special terms for this regatta. The accommodations page also includes an interactive map showing where each of the facilities are located in relation to the regatta site.
Accommodations include hotels, bed and breakfasts, dormitories, and camping. This is a work in progress covering the nearest facilities. Other facilities in the Williamsburg and Richmond areas will be listed later. We’ll also be putting together a docking and anchorage guide for those wishing to bring boats that are too large to fit up Mill Creek to the coach boat anchorage.
It is 12-21-09 and the word is that accommodations are very limited. You can greatly help those coming from long distances to update your list of accommodations to include status of availability (assuming inns and hotels will let organizers know of vacancy / non-vacancy status in exchange for free listing). Otherwise we are spending time spinning our wheels calling establishments without availability. Why list such places if no longer available? Website should be dynamic and effort to maintain current information should be a priority.
As of today we’ve confirmed availability at all of the locations and updated the listings that are not available with ‘NO VACANCY’ under their listing. We’ll do our best to keep up with this as the regatta nears.
